Who is Almost Joe? What kind of music?
We are asked that quite a bit. Started in 2006 with a dedicated core of five and ranging from seven to ten members at any given time, we began playing any venue that could hold us.We decided early to pass on the usual cover/tribute route in favor of approachable originals and a wide range of covers, many with our own twist. Our styles range from Rock to Blues & Jazz all fused with Latin Grooves.With powerful vocalists, and a variety of musical styles, we are a musical mutt with far ranging influences From Santana and Earth Wind and Fire to AC/DC and Pink Floyd, Willie Colon and Jimi Hendrix and Spyro Gyra with Motown. The band consists of Hector Vega on Timbales, Rick Tapia on Conga/Percussion, John Belpedio on bass and Manny Tapia on drums set the groove... Bill Cornish on keys brings his unique Jazz / Rock / Fusion texture to the mix. Barry Wood brings the soulful Sax and on guitar, Luis Allende ties all our Latin and Fusion influences together. Top that off with the vocals of our own Paul Veselak and Diane Savaglio to create an original sound that draws everyone to the venue and the dance floor.
We have now completed our first CD, Almost Joe "It’s Show Time" and well into our second (as yet untitled) CD.
